The new Ford Tourneo Connect will be available in two body sizes, three finishes, as well as gasoline and diesel mechanicals. It will arrive in the spring of 2022.
As part of the renewal of its model range, the oval brand has introduced a new Ford Tourneo Connect, which is now offered as an ideal solution for those who enjoy outdoor activities. However, the new Tourneo still maintains accessories for commercial use.
For version 2022, it is offered in two body sizes, L1 and L2, with capacity for up to seven occupants and four finishes: Trend, Titanium, Active and Sport. Thus, with the second and third row seats removed, the Tourneo Connect offers up to 3,100 liters of cargo volume on L2 models and 2,600 liters on L1 models. Also offered are the optional panoramic roof or dual-zone climate control, as well as AGR-certified seats with four-way power lumbar adjustment. Of course, it does not forget its commercial vocation with rubber mats, durable and easy to clean, which are available as an accessory.
The technological side of the Ford Tourneo Connect is expanded with a 8.25 ”screen (option of up to 10”, to control the main functions of the infotainment and navigation system. For the instrument panel, the analog dials can be replaced, a feature that is standard on Sport models and available on Titanium and Active models. The digital dashboard features a 10.25-inch display on the instrument panel that can work in conjunction with the central infotainment system to give drivers more information and control.
To this is added a wide range of driver assistance systems, among which stand out the Pre-collision assist with autonomous emergency braking, lane keeping system, cruise control, Hill start assist or front and rear parking sensors. In addition, it can be associated with the trailer assistance package that includes the new Pro Trailer Backup Assist system. This allows even inexperienced drivers to maneuver confidently by using the exterior mirror adjustment knob instead of the steering wheel to control the direction of the vehicle and trailer.
The 2022 Ford Tourneo Connect will be available with a range of gasoline and diesel engines and, for the first time, with all-wheel drive. In gasoline, a 1.5-liter EcoBoost block that develops a power of 114 hp and 220 Nm of torque. For its part, it can be equipped with the diésel EcoBlue 2.0 with two power ranges: 112 and 122 hp of power.
All models feature a smooth six-speed manual transmission as standard, although they can be paired with a seven-speed automatic gearbox. On the other hand, all-wheel drive will only be available for the most powerful diesel version. Ford has already announced that the order period for the Tourneo Connect will open in early 2022 and the first deliveries will arrive in the spring.
